Why I like Danny Carey

Well... As many of you might have noticed from the title, Danny Carey is one of my drumming idols/influences. So I'm a really big fan of Tool.

In my opinion, I feel that as a drummer, his drumming speaks to me, especialy if i am watching him play. His way of hitting the cymbals and drums is sort of hard to explain.

He has a particular way of doing that (watch the video above on this page showing Danny playing along to Lateralus & being interviewed).

Some of his mottoes are the same ones that I have and live by (well not exactly the same words but close) like:

- We're here to share our art with people, not share ourselves with people.

- I take my music seriously but I don't take myself seriously.

I personally will do ANYTHING (sarcasticly) to get my hands on his kit when he dies (god bless that it never happens); but the thing is that I can't afford sonor kits as awesome as his so I'll only get the snare.

So basically these are the things that I like about Danny Carey. I hope you think the same and remember this is only my opinion.
