Ian Paice - Deep purple, Clem Burke - Blondie, Bev Bevan - ELO, Zeke Manyika- The The, Orange juice, Jean Crooper, John Miceli - Meat Loaf ....try drumming the intro to Bat out of hell and sustain for the whole of the 9-47 minutes without a breather...deserve apologies here....WTF!
Ringo was very mediocre....and Mr Peart is haut couture drumming....its very impressive but nobody really listens to that droning long winded melody bereft shite since LSD went out of fashion.
You need to be on drugs to listen to 70's concept album stuff. Its like the drumming equivalent of masturbation.
Prog rock has got to be the most dreary monotonous waste of any of its exponents and fans time....which is probably why anyone who was any good moved on to consumable music like all of Genesis and Yes band members.
Drumming is truly at its best when it drives the song and draws you into the riff.
