Henley coined it spot on when he said "I'm a good drummer when I'm not singing, and I'm a good singer when I'm not drumming.
Musician? With his writing skills, he is complete. He's making more money off of stuff he wrote 30 years ago than most artists are making touring.
One of the unique sounds of The Eagles was the sound of the bass guitar (Randy Meisner) and Henley's synchronization of the beat. You could hear it, feel it, and even taste it if you held your mouth just right.
Not to even mention the amount of time he was behind the kit playing for OTHER artists.
